Professor Victor Ojakorotu

Professor Victor Ojakorotu PhD obtained a First-Class Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 from the Department of International Relations, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

Based on his impressive performance at the undergraduate level, he was employed as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of International Relations, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. He quickly engaged in the master’s degree programme in International Relations, while teaching some undergraduate courses and offering tutorial classes to students of the Department. 

In 2007, he earned his PhD in International Relations from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. 

He earned the University of the Witwatersrand, Postgraduate Merit Award, 2002, 2003 and 2004; and Laureates, Governance Institute, CODESRIA, Dakar (2002). He taught at the School of Politics, University of Kwazulu Natal, Pietermaritzburg Campus, South Africa between 2004 and 2007 and proceeded to Monash University between 2007 and 2011 before joining the North West University, Mafikeng Campus where he became a full Professor in 2014.

He has served as editor and reviewer to the following journals: Gender and Behaviour, Journal of Gender Information and Development in Africa, Journal of Reviews on Global Economies, African Renaissance, and Ubuntu: Journal of Conflict and Social Transformation (all Scopus and IBSS Accredited).

He has been an external examiner for Masters and Doctoral degrees from 2007- present at the University of Cape Town, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, University of Zululand, and University of Witwatersrand, all in South Africa. He is currently the Deputy Director, School of Government Studies, Mafikeng at North West University, Mafikeng, South Africa. 

His research interests are African Politics, Nigeria, Conflict and Peace, Environmental Politics and Security.

He is widely published in internationally accredited academic journals on the vexing subject of the Niger Delta. 

Some of books he has published on the Niger Delta are Contending Issues in the Niger Delta of Nigeria, Fresh Dimensions on the Niger Delta Crisis of Nigeria, Checkmating the Resurgence of Oil Violence in the Niger Delta of Nigeria and Anatomy of the Niger Delta Crisis: Causes, Consequences and Opportunities for Peace.

Professor Andrew Ezadueyan Zamani

Professor Andrew Ezadueyan Zamani is a Clinical Psychologist at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria.

He is the current Director of the Institute of Governance and Development Studies at the University, having served previously as the Director, Quality Assurance and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences.

He is the Immediate Past President of the Nigerian Psychological Association and serves on the Executive Committee of the Pan African Psychology Union, Executive Board of the World Association of Cultural Psychiatry and Gede Foundation, Nigeria.

Professor Zamani has varied work experiences, spanning work settings such as University Teaching Hospitals, Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, and the organized private sector in Nigeria.

He has provided consultancy services to the Federal Ministry of Health, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigerian Correctional Services, UNFPA, UNODC, and the European Union on reproductive health, substance use, drug policy development, prison psychology, de-radicalization, and peace-building.

He is a Fogarty and MASHAV scholar, with a specialization in Mentoring and Psychosocial Care of Children affected by chronic diseases.

His research interests are health systems development, culture and psychopathology, psycho-trauma, substance use disorders, and psycho-social interventions.
